T. Greg Amann, an Ellsworth attorney who works part-time as a Pierce County assistant district attorney, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense, after his car apparently ran into a ditch outside Hudson late Friday night.
St. Croix County Jail records indicate Amann, 55, was booked on a charge of OWI-second offense at 12:05 a.m. Saturday.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reported Tuesday that Amann is alleged to have fled the scene, prompting citations for failure to report an accident and driving at an unreasonable speed. The St. Croix County Clerk of Court's Office reports Tuesday morning he is scheduled to appear March 20 on the charges, but no complaint has been filed yet.
A message left with Pierce County District Attorney Sean Froelich was not returned by the time the Herald went to press Tuesday morning.
The Leader-Telegram reported that authorities were advised at 11:10 p.m. Friday that a 1999 Lincoln was southbound on County Road A outside of Hudson when it crossed the centerline, entered a ditch and struck some trees.
The driver was not at the scene when deputies arrived, but the car checked to Amann.
