RIVER FALLS - Cassie Murphy's 23 points weren't enough for the Prescott High School girls' basketball team as they lost at River Falls Monday evening 45-44.
Katy Syverson and Kayla Lytle both scored six points for the Cardinals, now 10-7 overall, but no one else score more than two points. Georgia Bowen finished with six rebound and three assists. Murphy made five steals and Syverson had three.
PHS trailed for much of the game but evened things up in the fourth quarter outscoring the Wildcats 10-6. But in the extra session it was RF getting the upper hand to win the game.
The 'Cats, 4-11 overall, were led in scoring by Karly Murphy's 16 points.
Prescott won't have time to brood over the loss as they host Highway 10 rival Ellsworth tonight. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
