EAST LANSING, Mich. - Garry Harris played with a bad back. Keith Appling hurt his shoulder. Despite all of the ailments, Michigan State looked plenty healthy in the second half. Harris scored 15 points, Appling added 14 and the 12th-ranked Spartans downed No. 18 Minnesota, 61-50, behind a big 43-point second half.
Adreian Payne chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds for the Spartans, who have won eight of nine since a New Year's Eve loss to the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis. Andre Hollins led Minnesota with 11 points and Trevor Mbakwe added nine points and 14 points in the loss. The Golden Gophers saw a two-game winning streak fall by the wayside.

San Antonio won its 11th straight game with its 104-94 victory over the Timberwolves last night at Target Center. Tony Parker scored 31 points to go with eight assists and Danny Green added 28 points and drained eight from behind the arc. Kawhi Leonard finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic led the Wolves with 21 points and 10 boards. Minnesota has lost 13 of its last 15 games. The Spurs improved to 39-11.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is expected to address the media for the first time today since undergoing hand surgery. Love has been out of the line up since refracturing his shooting hand on January 3rd. On the season Love was averaging 18.3 points per game in the 18 games he's played.

The University of Minnesota football team has 19 new scholarship players in the fold following yesterday's National Signing Day. The list includes Donovahn Jones, a quarterback out of Georgia who was heavily recruited by the SEC, and junior college linebacker De'Vondre Campbell who initially committed to Tennessee, Texas and Kansas State before ultimately choosing the Gophers.

The Wild start a brief two-game homestand tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. Minnesota will then host Nashville on Saturday before traveling to Calgary next Monday. The Wild have lost two in-a-row following road losses in Anaheim and most recently Phoenix on Monday. They are now 4-4-and-1 on the season.
