Elmwood wins by 20 over Spring Valley, plays Colfax tomorrow night
The Elmwood High School boys' basketball team dispatched Eau Galle rival Spring Valley 56-36 Thursday evening and face an important contest this weekend.
ELMWOOD - The Elmwood High School boys' basketball team dispatched Eau Galle rival Spring Valley 56-36 Thursday evening and face an important contest this weekend.
Spring Valley stayed close for a half but were outscored by the Raiders 24-13 in the second half.
Elmwood's Kyle Webb had his second double-double in a row as he led all scorers with 26 points and all rebounders with 13 boards.Teammate Logan Wolf finished with 14 points and four assists and Eli Fredrickson led the Raiders with five assists.
The Cardinals, who have lost three in a row, had no one scoring in double figures. Troy Rudesill and Jake Helmer each had eight points and Ben Becker scored seven points. Zach Webster, playing in his first contest in months after recovering from an injury, scored four points.
Elmwood, 15-3 overall and 9-3 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference, will look to sweep the season series with Colfax as they take on the Vikings Saturday evening in Colfax. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. Spring Valley, 6-12 overall and 5-7 in the D-SC, will look to snap its losing streak tonight at home vs. Boyceville. Both team will play each other again next Thursday in a resdcheduled contest in Spring Valley.
In other D-SC action from last evening, Elk Mound clinched a tie for the D-SC title as the unebeaten and No. 5 ranked Mounders beat Plum City at home 64-29. EM can clinch the whole thing on Monday when they play the Blue Devils again in a rescheduled contest in Plum City.
