MADISON - When the Dane County Sheriff’s office heard about a 28 year old Madison man winning ten thousand dollars while gambling at DeJope Casino, they arrested him. That man owes six thousand dollars in back child support payments.
When deputies stopped him at a traffic light in Blooming Grove, the man was reportedly carrying $13,000 in cash. He was booked on charges of failing to pay child support, driving with insurance and driving on a suspended license.
Dane County officials say they have 975 outstanding warrants for failure to pay child support and just one deputy to enforce those warrants.
