MONDOVI - Marah Boyer's rebound basket with :1.8 seconds remaining lifted Plum City to its fifth straight Dunn-St. Croix Conference victory 32-31 over Mondovi Friday evening.

It's the first time in a long while the Blue Devils beat the Buffaloes, who are in second in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference at 11-3 (14-5 overall). Plum City reaches the .500 mark in D-SC player at 7-7 and is just below .500 overall at 8-9, this after a 1-7 start.

In fact you have to go back to 2001 the last time PC beat the Buffaloes at all and in Mondovi it was in the year 2000.

The win by the Blue Devils also helped Colfax clinch a tie for the D-SC title after the Vikings won Friday over St. Croix Central 42-15.

PC played superb defense throughout the contest, only trailing the Buffs' 13-12 at halftime. The biggest lead Mondovi had was six points at 29-23 in the fourth quarter. Yet Plum City came right back to take the lead when it counted at the end of the ballgame.

"We stayed in contact with them, we never allowed them to get out to big lead," PC head coach John Pollock said. "That allowed to be able to work our way to getting the lead because they're a very tough team on defense too."

Boyer led all scorers with 15 points. The Devils' Elaina Danzinger finished with six points. and Sarah Gilles had five points. Mondovi had just one player in double figures, Amber Rud, with 12 points. PC held the Buffaloes' top scorer, Jenny Franzwa, in check with just five points.

Plum City will have a chance to extend its winning streak Monday when they play at Spring Valley.
