Spring Valley /Elmwood wrestlers top D-SC foes to win title
Spring Valley/Elmwood's wrestling team topped its Dunn-St. Croix Conference foes to win its second straight WIAA Division 3 regional title.
CADOTT - Spring Valley/Elmwood's wrestling team topped its Dunn-St. Croix Conference foes to win its second straight WIAA Division 3 regional title.
The No. 10 ranked Redbirds scored 241 points with No. 6 Glenwood City scoring 215.5 points and Boyceville 214.5 points to round out the top three schools in the six-team field of the Cadott Regional.
SVE qualified nine wrestlers for the individual sectional next Saturday in Osseo and qualified the whole team for the team sectional Tuesday in Glenwood City. SVE will face La Crosse Aquinas in the semifinals with No. 4 Clear Lake facing Ladysmith in the other semifinal.
Winning titles for SVE were Tyler Berg at 126 pounds, Jaron Turner at 160 and Ethan Hofacker at 182.
