Bucks look to stop losing streak against WashingtonWisconsin Sports

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks will host Washington tonight. The Bucks have lost three straight and five of their last six. And after sitting comfortably in the second-to-last Eastern Conference playoff spot, Milwaukee has dropped to the eighth-and-final position with only a three-game cushion over ninth-place Philadelphia.
Shooting guard Monta Ellis has stood out as a player who’s been struggling. He’s only made 37-percent of his shots in the last six games, while making one-of-every-five attempts from three-point range. For the season, Ellis is shooting just under 40-percent, almost six points below his career average. And he’s averaging 18 points a night. Ellis only took nine shots for eight points on Saturday, when the Bucks lost at home to Detroit by five. Coach Jim Boylan says there have been discussions about Ellis’s drop-off – but he’s not being singled out as a cause of Milwaukee’s recent problems.
He met briefly with Bucks’ owner Herb Kohl after practice yesterday – and he insisted he’s committed to turning things around before Milwaukee drops out of the playoff picture. The 27-year-old Ellis can leave at the end of the season if he chooses, but he says he’s not thinking about that. He has an $11-million player option for next year – and he’ll become a free agent if he declines it.
