PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's boys' basketball team went 0-4 this season against the top two teams in the Middle Border conference as Somerset beat the Cardinals 46-42 Monday evening.

The Spartans simply had too much scoring for the Redbirds to handle. Gaelin Elmore led Somerset scoring with 17 points and both Tyler Ledbeter and Jack Emmert had 12 points. PHS had just two players in double figures, the game's leading scorer Clay Seifert with 19 points, and Michael Brookshaw with 11 points. Only four player scored for Prescott.

The Spartans, 16-3 overall, outscored Prescott 14-6 in the second quarter to go in front 24-18 and held onto that lead for the second half.

Prescott drops to 13-6 overall and plays at New Richmond tonight. Somerset and Durand are tied atop the MBC at 11-1.
