MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority is expected to waste no time this morning selecting the construction firm that will build the new Vikings stadium.
The two finalists are Minnesota-based Mortenson Construction and Hunt Construction of Scottsdale, Arizona. Chairwoman Michele Kelm-Helgen says it's the only item on the agenda so she thinks the five-member board will have a vote and announcement within ten minutes.
Kelm-Helgen says their selection will be obvious to those who attend the meeting because that firm will be the only one in the room. Total construction on the $975-million stadium is estimated at $680-to $690-million.
