The Red-Out Event was held Jan. 25 at Ellsworth High School during the boys and girls basketball games.
This event raised $2,300 for the American Heart Association (AHA), which is one of the largest school donations in Western Wisconsin.
The purpose of the Red-Out is to further awareness of cardiovascular disease. Teams, students and community members were encouraged to purchase and wear “Rock the Beat” shirts to the games. All proceeds went directly the American Heart Association.
Cardiovascular disease kills more people in the U.S. than the next five leading causes of death combined…including cancer. The Red-Out was a great way to celebrate the lives of family and friends lost to this devastating disease while making a difference by helping to save others.
