Pine County deputies arrested 55-year-old Susan Thompson of Hermantown, after she failed to show up for sentencing on a theft of corporate property conviction. She admitted to defrauding the company by using a corporate credit card for personal expenses.
Officers tracked Thompson down at the Grand Casino Hinckley hotel, but when they tried to take her into custody she apparently tried to harm herself by dropping an electrical appliance into the bathtub. Police broke down the door and arrested Thompson without further incident.
