T-Wolves return with a win over Sixers
Minnesota Sports- Nikola Pekovic scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Minnesota to a 94-87 win over Philadelphia. Derrick Williams added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Nikola Pekovic scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Minnesota to a 94-87 win over Philadelphia. Derrick Williams added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves.
Ricky Rubio filled the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Evan Turner had a team-high 17 points for the losing side. Jrue Holiday finished with 16 points, five assists and five steals but it wasn't enough for the 76ers, who lost their third straight to drop to 22-and-30. The Timberwolves won for the just the second time in seven games to go to 20-and-31.

Fans attending last nights Wolves win over Philadelphia last night probably noticed the new NBA-mandated security policy being put in place at Target Center. In an effort to increase fan safety and security the Timberwolves began increased security screening with the use of handheld metal detectors for all fans entering the arena. Outside food and beverages aren't allowed inside Target Center along with firearms, knives and other self defense items such as mace. The additional security procedure will continue through the remainder of the season and at all home games going forward.
