Gopher puck teams both winners

The No. 1 ranked Golden Gopher women improved to 33-0-0 with a 2-0 win in the final regular season series with St. Cloud State at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. Rachel Ramsey and Maryanne Menefee had both Gopher goals and winning goalie Amanda Levielle made 24 saves.

The U men beat Minnesota-Duluth 5-3 at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis in front of over 10,000 fans. Kyle Rau and Erik Haula scored two third period goals to break a 3-3 tie. Haula had two goals while Nate Condon and Sam Warning also scored for the Gophers. Condon and Warning both had assists and teammate Zach Budish had two assists. Winning goalie Adam Wilcox made 26 saves. Minnesota will try to sweep a WCHA opponent for the first time since Jan. 11-12 against Alaska-Anchorage. Minnesota also hopes to move into first place with a win and St. Cloud State loss to Colorado College. They are currently tied for second with Nebraska-Omaha.
