DAYTONA, Fla. - Wisconsin native Johnny Sauter is NASCAR’s first official winner of 2013. Sauter, of Necedah, won the Next-Era Energy 250 last night in the Camping World Truck series’ opener at Daytona.
Sauter caught a break when James Buescher crashed on the final lap. That prevented Kyle Busch from making a last-second move. Sauter avenged a last-second defeat in last year’s Truck opener, when he was taken out on the final lap and John King won.
It was Sauter’s seventh career Truck Series’ victory.
