Gopher men can't get sweep as they tie UMD, women complete regular season unbeaten

-- The University of Minnesota women's completed its regular season undefeated after shutting out St. Cloud State 3-0 Saturday at National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. The men's team once again could not sweep its opponent as the Golden Gophers tied Minnesota-Duluth 2-2.

The U women went a perfect 34-0-0 with goals from Hannah Brandt, Becky Kortum and Millica McMillen. Winning goalie Noora Raty made 19 saves.

Minnesota-Duluth's Jake Hendrickson scored the game tying goal at 12:54 mark of the third period. Minnesota's two goals were scored by Mike Reilly in the first and Tom Serratore in the third. Minnesota goal Adam Wilcox made 35 saves and Minnesota-Duluth goalie Matt McNeeley made 38 goals. The Golden Gophers are still in second place in WCHA, two-points behind St. Cloud State 33-31. Minnesota hosts Denver in next weekend's series and SCSU hosts Michigan Tech.
