UPDATED: Injured snowmobiler in serious condition

Authorities say Joshua W. Brookshaw, 37, of rural Ellsworth, was the individual hurt late Monday night on a county trail in the town of Ellsworth after he lost control and was thrown from his snowmobile.

Joshua W. Brookshaw, 37, of rural Ellsworth, was transported directly to Regions Hospital in St. Paul early Tuesday after he lost control of his snowmobile and was ejected.

Pierce County Chief Deputy Jason Matthys provided the victim's name and age later Tuesday morning.

In an earlier press release, sheriff's deputy Donny Knutson said authorities were notified of the accident in the town of Ellsworth at 11:30 p.m. The individual was said to be on the county snowmobile trail between 450th and 530th streets.

Deputies were assisted by the Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service, Ellsworth fire and police departments.

Brookshaw was listed in serious condition Thursday morning, according to a Regions spokesperson.
