GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Minnesota forward Dany Heatley scored two goals to lead the Wild to a 4-3 win over the Coyotes last night in Arizona.
Minnesota held off a late third-period rally from Phoenix after taking a 4-1 lead. Jason Zucker and Jared Spurgeon each lit the lamp for the Wild, who improved to 10-7-2. Niklas Backstrom stopped 25 shots in the victory. Shane Doan and Keith Yandle scored the goals in the final period as Phoenix fell to 9-8-3. Mike Smith was pulled after allowing four goals on 19 shots through two periods.
The Wild play in Anaheim tonight.
