Gopher women's hoops upsets Penn State

MINNEAPOLIS - For the second time this week, Williams Arena was the site of a major upset in college basketball. This time, it was the Golden Gopher women who were the heroes.
Minnesota shot 67-percent from the floor last night and beat No. 7 Penn State 89-81. The Gophers received 24 points from Micaella Riche, 23 from Rachel Banham, and 19 from Sari Noga en route to the win. Riche was 9-for-10 from the floor and also grabbed five rebounds. Noga, who is from Parkers Prairie, hit six-for-six from three-point range while matching her career high.
Minnesota is now 17-12 overall and 6-9 in the Big Ten. Penn State fell to 23-4 overall and 13-2 in the league. The Gophers close out the regular season with a game at Indiana on Sunday afternoon.
