MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to extend their winning streak to four games tonight, when they host the Utah Jazz.
It’s the first of five straight contests against Western Conference opponents who’ve given the Bucks trouble in recent memory. Milwaukee is 8-and-11 against the West this season. Tonight, they’ll face a Jazz team which pounded the Bucks in Salt Lake City by 14 points almost a month ago. Unlike the last time the Bucks had a Western swing, center Larry Sanders will be available. He injured his lower back at Denver just before the All-Star break – but he continues to lead the NBA with 39 straight games with at least one blocked shot.
Milwaukee continues to have a solid hold on the eighth-and-final Eastern Conference spot, with a six-and-a-half game edge. The Bucks are also close to moving up in the playoff standings. They’re one-and-a-half behind seventh-place Boston, and three-and-half back of Chicago, Brooklyn, and Atlanta – which are all tied for fourth in the conference.
