Germantown High School takes a 54-game winning streak into the boys’ state high school basketball tournament that begins today in Madison. The top-ranked Warhawks will go for their second straight Division-One title, and their next challenge is a semi-final contest against Oshkosh North tomorrow night. The tournament opens at 1:30 this afternoon with the Division-Five semi-finals at the Kohl Center. Drummond plays unbeaten Green Bay Northeast Wisconsin Lutheran. And then Elmwood will take on Randolph. Tonight, it’s the Division-Four semis. Auburndale plays Amherst. And then undefeated Cuba City goes against defending D-Four champion Whitefish Bay Dominican. Semi-finals in the other three divisions will be played tomorrow – and title games in all five divisions are set for Saturday. At least two new state champions will be crowned. Last year’s Division-Three titlist Brillion lost in the sectionals, as did D-Five defending champ Sheboygan Lutheran.
