State NASCAR drivers head to Vegas
Wisconsin Sports-- Wisconsin NASCAR drivers are gearing up for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race in Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS - Wisconsin NASCAR drivers are gearing up for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race in Las Vegas.
Matt Kenseth had the top speed in the first practice for the Kobalt Tools-400. His Number-20 Toyota had a top speed of 187.369 miles an hour. Kenseth is 18th in the Sprint Cup point standings going into his third race of the season.
In the second practice session, Paul Menard of Eau Claire had the top showing among the Wisconsin drivers, placing 17th. Beloit-born Danica Patrick was 19th, Kenseth 28th, and Travis Kvapil of Janesville 32nd.
No Wisconsin drivers are entered for this weekend’s Nationwide Series event in Vegas, the Sam’s Town-300 to be run tomorrow. The Camping World Truck Series is off.
