The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly traded wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks. According to numerous media outlets, including the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the teams have agreed to the deal in principle. The NFL Network said the Seahawks will send draft picks to the Vikings in exchange for the versatile offensive weapon. Harvin played just nine games last season because of a severely sprained ankle, finishing the campaign with 62 receptions for 677 yards and three scores, while adding 96 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and was leading the NFL in kick return average at 35.9-yards before his injury. The 24-year-old Florida product was hurt in a Week Nine game against, ironically, Seattle and was finally put on injured reserve in early December. Harvin, who has had a contentious relationship with Vikings management, has 280 career catches for 3,302 yards with 20 touchdowns and has also averaged 6.4-yards on 107 carries with four scores. He's also returned five kickoffs for touchdowns in his four-year career.

The Twins rallied to score a run in the ninth inning to tie the game and then plated a pair of runs in the tenth inning to beat Tampa Bay 6-4 in Port Charlotte last night. Twins pitcher Vance Worley started the game and worked four innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk. The Twins are off today and will host Baltimore tomorrow night in Fort Myers.

Golden Gopher basketball players Trevor Mbakwe and Andre Hollins each have earned Big Ten honors. Mbakwe, a sixth-year senior from St. Paul, earned second-team recognition from the league's media voters and third-team accolades from the Big Ten coaches. Hollins, a sophomore from Memphis, was named third-team by the media and honorable mention by the coaches. Michigan's Trey Burke was named the Big Ten Player of the Year by both the media and coaches, while Wisconsin's Bo Ryan was named the league's Coach of the Year by both the media and coaches.

The Golden Gopher men's basketball team will practice today on campus and leave tomorrow for Chicago and the Big Ten Tournament. Tubby Smith's team opens the tourney with a game against Illinois on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at the United Center. Both teams finished the Big Ten slate with 8-and-10 records and split their regular season series. The winner of the Thursday game would draw top-seed Indiana in the quarterfinals on Friday morning.

The top-ranked and undefeated Golden Gopher women's hockey team is the overall No. 1 seed in this year's NCAA Division I women's hockey tournament. The field of eight teams was announced yesterday and Minnesota will host North Dakota on Saturday afternoon in a national quarterfinal game. The puck will drop at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Ridder Arena. The winning team will advance to the NCAA Frozen Four, set for March 22-24 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. __________________________________________________________________________

The suddenly-hot Minnesota Wild host Anaheim tonight in a key NHL Western Conference showdown. Minnesota sits atop the Northwest Division, while Anaheim leads the Pacific Division. The Wild is 9-2-and-1 at home and have won three of their last four games and seven of the last ten. The Ducks have won three in a row heading into this one tonight. Anaheim has the second-best record in the West. The puck drops tonight at 7 p.m

Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman gave his team the day off yesterday, getting some rest to his leg-weary players. The Wolves have lost eight of the last nine games including Saturday's road game at Denver and Sunday's home game against Dallas. Adelman will put his team through a light workout today before tipping off against one of the NBA's best teams when San Antonio visits the Target Center tonight for a 7 p.m. tilt. San Antonio ran past Oklahoma City last night in Texas.
