Eight SVE wrestlers make all-conference
Eight wrestlers on the Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team made the first and second team All-Dunn-St. Croix Conference Wrestling Team for 2013.
Eight wrestlers on the Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team made the first and second team All-Dunn-St. Croix Conference Wrestling Team for 2013.
Making the first team is junior Derek Huebel at 113 pounds. He finished the regular season with a 30-12 overall record. Junior Tyler Berg is on the first team for 126 pounds (31-10), freshman Jed Schlegel comes in at 132 (32-9) and freshman Ethan Hofacker is on the first team at 195 pounds (27-13). Hofacker and Schlegel are the only freshmen to make the first team.
Four SVE wrestlers made the second team. They include freshman Logan Newton at 120 (32-12) junior Zach Newton (37-13) at 145, who was the team’s lone state qualifier, junior Jaron Turner (31-12) at 152 and sophomore Mike Roesler (19-18) at 220.
Also making the first team were Boyceville sophomore Austin Wolfe at 106; Glenwood City seniors Riley Knops at 120; Adam Holmquist of Glenwood City at 138 and Austin More at 145; Boyceville senior Josh Cormican at 152 and St. Croix Central’s Carl Moll at 160; Cody Nyhagen at 170, Kyle Aaby at 182; Austin Edison at 220 and Decker Grass at 285. Of this group, Grass, a sophomore, is the only non-senior.
