Bernard Joseph Langer, 92, of Red Wing, Minn., died Tuesday, May 29, at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.

Bernard Joseph Langer, 92, of Red Wing, Minn., died Tuesday, May 29, at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 24, 1919, in Diamond Bluff, Wis., to William and Mary (Reis) Langer and attended school in Big River, Wis. On May 29, 1945, he married Felicia Turner, and they lived in Diamond Bluff. Bernard had worked at Great Northern Rail Road, Cudahay Packing Plant, and Northern States Power Company before he began his career at the Pierce County Highway Department, retiring in 1981. Throughout his life, he also farmed with his brother and continued to farm after retiring. He and Felicia enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren

Bernard is survived by his children, Sherrianne (Kenneth) Langer of Prescott, Wis., Margaret Mary (Joe) Lazzari of Seal Beach, Calif., Dennis B. (Sue) Langer of Ellsworth, Wis., Charlene (Jim) Larson of Hager City, Wis., Dale (Anne Maassen) Langer of Eau Claire, Wis., Charles (Stephanie) Langer of Red Wing, Michael (Patricia) Langer of Centuria, Wis., Daniel (JoAnna) Langer of Dallas, Wis., Douglas (Shannon) Langer of Helenville, Wis., and Lisa (Howard) Blank of Clayton, N.Y.; grandchildren: Kenneth Langer and Cassandra (Paul) Johnson; Sarah, Elizabeth, and Damien Lazzari, Ruth (Randy) Peace; Christa (Laun) Chau; Becky (Mike Eidelbes) Larson and Dennis (Sarah) Larson; Erin Langer; Jacob and Jared Langer; Cassandra, Adam, and Mariah Langer; Ashley (Chris) Winkleman, Jessica, Ryan, and Dane Langer; Garret, Tanner, and Gunnar Blank; great-grandchildren: Bailey Langer; Tessa and Makayla Johnson; Isaiah Turner Chau; Ella Grace and TJ (Thomas James) Larson; Sydney Jeanne Eidelbes; Ethan and Jacob Winkleman; three step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Cole, and Avery Winkleman; and a brother, Lavern Langer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Felicia; an infant daughter, Kim; sisters, Marie Denzer, Freda Langer, Irene Johnson, and Lorraine Kinneman; brothers, Martin, Leo, William, and Arnold Langer.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing, with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary's-Big River Cemetery. Memorials preferred to either St. Mary's-Big River or Church of St. Joseph.
