Helen Anderson died on Oct. 10 at Seminary Home in Red Wing at the age of 94.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 65 years, James; her parents, Alf and Anna Solvang; her sister Dorothy Robertson; and her brother, William Solvang.

She was a woman of great faith and lived her life in service to God. Born in Minneapolis, she and Jim lived in Ellsworth and Plum City before moving to Minneapolis in 1965. Over the years, she served as Sunday school superintendent at Lund Covenant Church and taught many Sunday school classes and Bible study groups.

She graduated from Minnehaha Academy and went on to become a practical nurse. Over the years, she worked at a variety of jobs while raising a family. While Jim traveled for his job, Helen worked full time but still attended every basketball game, every football game, and every horse show for her children. She ultimately found her vocation working at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Minneapolis. She retired after 15 years working for Billy Graham. After retirement, she and Jim moved to Seminary Plaza in Red Wing.

She is survived by her three children: David (Doris) Anderson, Lansing, Iowa; Steven (Diane) Anderson, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; Naomi (Paul) Stein, Maple, Wis.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as her sister Ruth Henk and sister-in-law, Evelyn Christenson.

Visitation at 12 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Lund Covenant Church. Interment at the Lund Covenant Cemetery.

Arrangements by Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
