The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team escaped with a 64-61 win over Michigan Tuesday night at the Kohl Center.
The 11th-ranked Badgers were up by 10 early, but the game was tied with just over four minutes to go and it was not decided until Marcus Landry hit a three-pointer with 19-point-two seconds left. That put Wisconsin up by four and made it a two-possession game for the Wolverines.
Michigan out-rebounded the Badgers 35-24 and they had a 20-9 edge on the offensive glass.
But Wisconsin shot 60-percent in the second half, and they only committed 11 turnovers. Landry and Michael Flowers scored 14 apiece.
Freshman guard Manny Harris had a season-high 26 for Michigan which fell to 1-6 in the Big Ten and 5-14 overall.
The Badgers improved to 6-0 in the conference and 16-2 overall. They’ll play at Purdue on Saturday.
