The Milwaukee Bucks have signed the four assistants new coach Scott Skiles wanted.

Former Marquette player Jim Boylan will be Skiles’ lead assistant just like he was when they were at Chicago and Phoenix.

But the one who’s raising eyebrows nationally is former Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson.

He was the head coach at Indiana when the school got hit with five major NCAA rule violations and he was forced to resign this past spring.

The Bucks are giving Sampson his first pro coaching opportunity.

Skiles says Sampson knows a lot about basketball and he knows a lot of the NBA players because he has international coaching experience.

Skiles also brought in former Bucks’ player Joe Wolf, who has coached in the developmental league, but not in the NBA.

The final assistant is former Memphis Grizzlies’ coach Lionel Hollins.

Bucks’ General Manager John Hammond says he couldn’t be more pleased with the staff Skiles put together. They’re also keeping assistant Bill Peterson from last year’s Milwaukee staff.
