Obama to skip Madison appearance

The Democrat was expected to address a huge crowd outside the State Capitol on Thursday, but he visited his ailing grandmother in Hawaii instead.
Gov. Jim Doyle, one of Obama’s earliest supporters, said he talked with the campaign about scheduling another Wisconsin visit. But he says it’s not likely, because Obama must spend his final campaign week in states like Colorado and North Carolina where his race with John McCain is much tighter.
Doyle says Wisconsin could see a lot of Obama if he’s elected president next week.
