The Milwaukee Brewers lost to St. Louis 8-1 at Miller Park Tuesday night.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to St. Louis 8-1 at Miller Park Tuesday night.

And they might have lost left-fielder Ryan Braun for today’s series finale, after he bruised his right wrist.

Cardinals’ starter Adam Wainwright hit Braun with a pitch in the third inning, and Braun finally left the game in the fifth. X-rays showed nothing was broken.

Jeff Suppan took the loss, giving up three of the Cardinals’ four homers on the night.

Wainwright hit his fourth career blast and Colby Rasmus, Chris Duncan and Nick Stavinoha also went yard.

Suppan gave up five runs on seven hits in three and two-thirds innings, and the loss dropped his record to 3-4.

Wainwright got the win, striking out nine in seven innings as he improved to 5- 2.

Prince Fielder drove in Milwaukee’s only run on a ground-out in the third, as the Brewers went 0-8 with runners in scoring position.

J.J. Hardy missed his fourth game with back spasms and he expects to return today.

The Cards beat Milwaukee for the first time in five tries this season, as the Brewers have now lost four of their last five.

The Brewers and Cardinals are tied once again atop the National League Central as they close out their three-game set this afternoon.

Left-hander Manny Parra faces St. Louis right-hander Todd Wellemeyer.
