BALDWIN -- Area residents are invited to meet some of the conservative-leaning candidates running for public office in 2010 at an event hosted by Glenwood City area resident Annette Olson and her family.

A "Meet the Candidate" night has been set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 27 at The Orchard Grill & Bar, 571 US Hwy 63 in Baldwin.

There is no charge.

A number of 2010 candidates have been invited to speak and several have confirmed their attendance, Olson said Tuesday morning.

Among those invited:

Attorney General: JB VanHollen; gubernatorial candidates Scott Walker, Mark Neumann and Mark Todd;

Lt. Governor candidates Dave Ross, Ben Collins, Brett Davis (representative confirmed attending) and Rebecca Kleefisch; State Treasurer Scott Feldt; Secretary of State: Pastor David King (confirmed attending);

3rd Congress District: Dan Kapanke (confirmed attending); US Senate: David Westlake and Terrance Wall;

State Assembly: John Murtha and Dean Knudson (confirmed attending).

For more information, contact Annette Olson, 715-760-0665 or annette-eaf@centurytel.net.

Olson, who labels herself a conservative, said she's attended several Tea Party events and helped organize two "open carry" rallies in the region.

Because no individual or group "has taken any real steps forward to gather strong conservative candidates" to meet the public, she decided to do so.

"November has to many consequences. If voters aren't informed, how can they vote?", she said.

She hopes to host similar public meetings regularly between now and the November general election.
