Conservation practices on Ellsworth area farm now deemed ‘outstanding’

Ron Kannel agreed he doesn’t employ conservation practices on his family’s approximately 200-acre farm because of its potential to earn them awards. Nonetheless, the Waverly area operation has been honored on the county level twice: in 2002 as a Soil and Water Conservation award winner and, now, as Pierce’s Outstanding Conservation Farm.
