James “Slip” L. DeBriyn, 81

James “Slip” L. DeBriyn, age 81, of 2701 Junction Road, Ashland, Wis., father to JoAnne (George) Toman of Ellsworth, Wis., passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, Wis. surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 7 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland. Interment will take place in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Ashland, Wis. with military honors under the auspices of the United Chequamegon Area Veterans. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church in Ashland and continue until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a fund established at the Associated Bank in Ashland for medical expenses. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home of Ashland and Mellen, Wis.
