A tradition
Marie Demuth, Ellsworth, spent part of her 94th birthday Monday placing fresh white crosses trimmed with red paper poppies on the graves of deceased members of the American Legion Auxiliary. Placing the crosses has been a pre-Memorial Day tradition for Demuth for five decades. This year her daughter Mary Ann Blodgett (left) of Bull Shoals, Ark., helped with the crosses at St. Francis Cemetery.
