Wild Side: The one that got away
Joe Lewinski drove us through falling snow to the Minneapolis airport early in the morning on Feb. 15. Later that same day we were back again under the coconut palms in Belize with our friends Bill and Sue Smith and Sandy Linehan of River Falls. We enjoyed some cold Belikan beers and met some of our Belizean friends.

There was something that concerned me at the state individual wrestling tournament and that was the number of close defeats Ellsworth took in the meet. There were several matches that could have gone their way and several that were lost late in the third period.

It' quite an accomplishment for a school to win one state championship in a year. River Falls won two in one day Saturday. The St. Croix Valley Fusion won their second straight state girls' hockey title in Madison Saturday afternoon, while the River Falls High School gymnastics team won its second championship in four years at the state meet in Wisconsin Rapids a few hours later. Both teams will be welcomed back to River Falls with a parade on Main Street Sunday at noon.
