A couple arrived at the entrance gate as Polka Fest got underway on the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Ellsworth Friday. Many of the fest goers brought their own chairs. Temperatures were around 100 degrees and the humidity was high for the event’s opening, but the heat wave broke in time for the weekend, which was sunny and mild.
