Wisconsin Industrial Sand Company and its parent company, Fairmont Minerals, announced Wednesday several grants were handed out to local emergency organizations serving its area locations in Maiden Rock, Hager City, Bay City and Wheeler. “We truly appreciate the efforts of the emergency service organizations as they continue to save lives and make our communities a better place,” said Kristin Lewis, Fairmont Minerals Manager of Sustainable Development. “We extend our best wishes for the success of these organizations.” Locally, Ellsworth Fire Department received $50,000, Lund Fire received $30,000, Plum City Fire received $5,000, Maiden Rock, Plum City, Stockholm Ambulance received $20,000 and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department received $6,000.
