Roger Charles O'Connor, age 68, of River Falls, Wis., formerly of Hager City, Wis., died Sunday, Oct. 21, following a long struggle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Roger Charles O'Connor, age 68, of River Falls, Wis., formerly of Hager City, Wis., died Sunday, Oct. 21, following a long struggle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Roger was born on Aug. 8, 1944, in Plum City, Wis., the son of Floyd and Helen (Fassler) O'Connor. At a young age, he and his family moved to Bay City, Wis., where he grew up and later graduated from Ellsworth High School. Roger married Jeri Theis on April 22, 1967, at St. Francis Catholic Church. To this union, three daughters were born: Lori, Kristi, and Stacy.
Roger spent his working life with the Red Wing Shoe Company in the cutting dept. as a cutter, retiring after 41 years of service. Roger loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved spending time at the cabin in Webster.
He was a member of Harding-Hall-Darrington American Legion Post #357, Bay City.
Roger is survived by his wife, Jeri O'Connor, River Falls; daughters: Lori (Scott) Gadient, Red Wing, Minn.; Kristi (Tom) Hartmon, River Falls; Stacy (Todd) Gilles, Bayport, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Derek, Jacob, Mikayla, Taylor, and Jackson.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vern O'Connor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth, Wis. Burial will be in the Bay City Cemetery, Bay City. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Thursday. Military honors will be provided by Harding-Hall-Darrington American Legion Post #357, Bay City.
