John Alvin Glenn, age 79, of Cottage Grove, Minn., passed away May 27.

John Alvin Glenn, age 79, of Cottage Grove, Minn., passed away May 27.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Zion Lutheran Church, 8500 Hillside Tr. S., Cottage Grove. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, and also for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

John Alvin Glenn was born June 13, 1932, in Farmington, Ark., to Elmer and Mamie (Ralston) Glenn. He entered active duty in the U.S. Army in 1949 and was stationed in Germany as a tank mechanic. John was a long-time employee at the HD Hudson Company in Hastings as a punch press supervisor.

He was a member of the VFW Post 8752 and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and fixing things.

John is survived by his children, Robert, Holly (Brian) Struve, Carol Angerman, Sharyn (Bruce Martin) Raphael, Diana Beying, Reginald (Marie) Christiansen, Roger Christiansen, and Michael (Bev Wallen) Christiansen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Cecil (Imogene) Glenn, Dorothy Rosebeary, and Louise Arney; sister-in-law, Edith Glenn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Lynner) Glenn; parents, Elmer and Mamie Glenn; sisters Barbara Shepard, Wilma (and husband Bob) Mounce; brothers, Robert and Alfred Glenn; and son-in-law Skip Angerman.
