Norvel Radke, 75

Norvel Radke, “Norvie,” age 75, of River Falls, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at River Falls Area Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1935, in Ellsworth, to the late Floyd and Iola (Hanvelt) Radke. Norvel married Amalie Hellmuth on Nov. 14, 1959.

Norvel enjoyed going on trips all over the country especially Alaska and spending the winters in Texas. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved playing cards with his grandchildren. Norvel also was known to drive his family home from Mexico a few times. He enjoyed chocolate, Tootsie Pops and cappuccino. Norvel had a great attitude and will be sorely missed.

Norvel is survived by his devoted wife, Amalie; six children, Robert (Norma) Radke, Ronald (Rebecca) Radke, Richard (Joy) Radke, Raymond (Lisa) Radke, Helen (Paul) Kusilek, and Heidi Radke; 13 grandchildren, Natasha, Jonathan, Alesha, Scott, Sammi Jo, Jacob, Leah, Emily, Cooper, Sabrina, MacKenna, Max, and Miranda; and further survived by his little woof, Walter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday, March 5, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls with Father Gerald Harris officiating. A memorial gathering will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at church on Friday.
