Delbert Helmueller, 82

Delbert Charles Helmueller, age 82, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the River Falls Area Hospital.

He was born on May 12, 1927, in the town of Union, Pierce County, Wis., the son of Jacob and Edith (Blomstrom) Helmueller. Delbert served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until he was honorably discharged in 1948. He was an active member of the Ellsworth community for many years.

Delbert was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth.

Delbert is survived by his four sons; Kevin Helmueller, Ellsworth, Barry (Toni) Helmueller, Ellsworth, Shawn Helmueller, Beldenville, Jay (Michelle) Helmueller, Beldenville; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; former wife, Phyllis Thomas, Beldenville; eight brothers and sisters, Dorothy Helmueller, Marjorie Dahl, Thelma (Russell) Ek, Ruth Ann (Howard) Olson, Oliver (Marie) Helmueller, Eugene (Irma) Helmueller, Robert (Mary) Helmueller, Jerome (Barbara) Helmueller; sister-in-law, Audrey Helmueller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; brother, Ronald; and brother-in-law, Robert Dahl.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Fr. Roy Witucki will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth, where there was a 7 p.m. prayer service, and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Delbert’s sons; and grandsons, Andrew, Shawn, Mitchell, and Adam. Full military honors will be provided by Kinne-Englehart Am. Legion post #204, Ellsworth.
