Blake Flanigan, 16

Blake James Flanigan, age 16, of Ellsworth, died Sunday, Oct. 16, in Maiden Rock, Wis., as the result of an auto accident.

Blake James Flanigan, age 16, of Ellsworth, died Sunday, Oct. 16, in Maiden Rock, Wis., as the result of an auto accident.

Blake was born on Jan. 11, 1995, in Red Wing, Minn., to James and Rhonda (Williams) Flanigan. He attended St. Francis and was currently a junior at the Ellsworth High School.

Blake had a fun-loving, courteous, and thoughtful personality, enjoyed deer hunting, and loved animals and driving his 1969 Ford pickup. Blake also enjoyed showing his animals at the fair. He was a good friend to many and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Blake was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Green Clover 4-H Club.

Blake is survived by his parents, Jim and Rhonda Flanigan, Ellsworth; sister, Jenna (Shawn Frandrup) Flanigan, Menomonie, Wis.; brothers, Jared and Conner, at home; niece, Addison Frandrup; grandparents Marilyn and Bufford Kurrelmeyer, Ellsworth, and John Flanigan, Clayton, Wis. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

His grandmother Jean Flanigan and aunt Brenda Gove preceded him in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and for 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Blake was a great kid. When my daughter started school at Ellsworth this year he really helped her out. You should be proud to know how friendly and helpful he was. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May Blake rest in peace. Scott, Suzie and Taylor Brunner
