Dorothy H. Helmueller, age 94, of Plum City, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 27, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Dorothy H. Helmueller, age 94, of Plum City, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 27, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born on April 18, 1917, in Plum City, Wis. She was the daughter of Jacob and Edyth (Blomstrom) Helmueller. She lived in the Plum City area her whole life and attended Plum City Schools. Dorothy worked for the post office in Plum City for 50 years from 1942-1992. She started her career as a clerk and retired as the postmaster of the Plum City Post Office.

She loved playing cards, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her three grandchildren, Bryan Helmueller, Becky (Brian) Hase, Tara (Vance) Lampman; daughter-in-law, Audrey Helmueller; seven great-grandchildren, Branden and Bridgette Hase, Carsen and Rylee Helmueller, Landan, Parker, and Carter Lampman; three brothers, Eugene (Irma) of Plum City, Jerome (Barbara) of Lakeway, Texas, Robert (Mary) of St. Paul; three sisters, Thelma Ek of St. Paul, Marjorie Dahl of Radcliff, Ky., and Ruthann (Howard) Olson of Millington, Tenn.; many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald "Bud" Helmueller; two brothers, Delbert and Oliver Helmueller; brothers-in-law Russ Ek and Robert Dahl; special friend Floren "Flip" Fox.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at St John's Catholic Church in Plum City with Rev. John Helmueller officiating. Burial will be at Free Home Cemetery, rural Plum City, in the spring. Friends and family may call from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Rhiel's Funeral Home in Durand and 1 hour prior to service at the church.
