Robert M. Nelson, age 86, of Ellsworth, died Feb. 20, surrounded by his family at the Ellsworth Care Center.

Robert M. Nelson, age 86, of Ellsworth, died Feb. 20, surrounded by his family at the Ellsworth Care Center.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1926, to Arthur S. Nelson and Clara Hilden in Trimbelle Township, Wis. He grew up and farmed in Trimbelle Township. He was also a John Deere tractor mechanic at Midway Implement, and a mechanic at Oltman Ford, in Ellsworth, for many years.
Bob enjoyed working in the woods, cutting firewood, and cooking maple syrup. He also loved John Deere tractors, and would fix them for his surrounding neighbors.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alice, Percy, Donald, Frederic, Gladys and John; nephews, Tom and Danny.
He is survived by his brother, Orville; and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service for Bob will be 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Bethel Covenant Church. There will be a visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
