Loren Kenneth Webster, age 81, of Ellsworth, was born in Hartland Township on May 25, 1930, to Lillian K. (Bristol) and Frank L. Webster.

He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical and Reform Church. He attended Lantz Country School and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1947.

He married Betty-Ann Sweet Nelson on Sept. 10, 1949, at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing, Minn. They had six sons. They built three houses together. The third house became the family's home. They separated and divorced in 1979.

From 1947 to 1952, he and his brother Dick ran a garage repair business and a farm. In 1952, he went to work for Huber Excavating, running bulldozers and heavy equipment. In 1982, he and his son Charlie purchased the business and operated it as Webster Excavating for several years. When the partnership split up, Loren and his son Bruce continued to operate an excavating and plumbing business.

He married Delores Schommer in 1986. They separated in June of 2009.

Loren suffered a severe accident in September 2008 and was hospitalized until May of 2009 when he returned home. Thanks to the continuing good care and concern of his sons he was able to remain at home as he struggled to recover. He passed away peacefully at home early on the morning of May 19, 2012.

He is survived children James L. (Rosemarie) Webster of Elkhart, Wis., Charles L. (Kris) Webster of Ellsworth, Bruce A. Webster of Ellsworth, Dana J.S. Webster of Waukesha, Wis., Jonathan L.
