Florence G. (Odalen) Neiderhauser, 97, died at the Ellsworth Care Center on June 21.
Florence G. (Odalen) Neiderhauser, 97, died at the Ellsworth Care Center on June 21.
She was born May 14, 1915, in El Paso Township in Pierce County, Wis., the daughter of Amund and Ida (Place) Odalen. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1932. She worked as a nanny in St. Paul for several years. Her marriage to Edgar Neiderhauser was July 17, 1941, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Beldenville, Wis. They farmed in El Paso Township for A.C. Bjornson before moving to their own Ellsworth Township farm in 1947. Her husband passed away in 1992.
She was an active lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She loved and appreciated the staff at the Ellsworth Care Center where she lived for the last 7 years of her life.
She is survived by one daughter, Audrey (Clair) Severson of Ellsworth; one son, John (Denise) Neiderhauser of Menomonie, Wis.; five granddaughters, Julie (Dermott) Norman of Minnetonka, Minn., Rebecca (Randy) Elsbernd of Mason City, Iowa, Sarah (Chad) Rieschl of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Kaci (Adam) Sporrong of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Lindi (Ryan) Everson of New Richmond, Wis.; seven great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; one sister, Mildred Christopherson of Ellsworth; one brother, Leroy (Marion) Odalen of Spring Valley; one brother-in-law, Willard (Bertha) Neiderhauser; sisters-in-law Pearl Ducklow, Alma Neiderhauser, Nancy Neiderhauser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Peter Neiderhauser; and four siblings: John Odalen, Eleanor Johnson, Alma Carlson, and Arnold Odalen.
Funeral services for Florence will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m.
