Marian Schickling, age 80, of Prescott, died Monday, July 16, at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn.

Marian was born on June 18, 1932, in Hastings, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Wortman) Sherry. She married Dennis Schickling Sr. on Aug. 12, 1950.
Marian loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to babysit her grandchildren and many other children. Marian enjoyed going to movies, the casino, playing bingo, and shopping. Marian never missed sending cards out for special occasions.
Marian retired from Smead Mfg. and also worked at St. Croix Dale in Prescott for many years. She was always there to help when someone was in need of a ride to the store or to an appointment. She went through a lot her past few years, health-wise, but that didn't get her down. Marian continued to keep her faith in God and never gave up.
Marian was a member of the American Legion and Regina Hospital Auxiliaries and Club 60 in Prescott and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Prescott.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Dennis; daughter Vivian, and son Wayne; parents; son in-law Kenny Martin; sisters, Lucy, Elsie, and Lorraine; brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Donald, and Jack.
Marian is survived by her children Marijo (Bill) Gustafson of Prescott, Gloria (Kent) Sebion of Prescott, Diane (Darrell) Cambell of Hastings, Jean (Howard) Thompson of Prescott, Dennis (Kim) Schickling of Prescott, and Al (fiancée Christy) Schickling of Prescott; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters in-law, Willa, Dolores, and Bernice, and brother in-law Phil; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Prescott. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.
