Joseph Clair Janisch, age 34, of Ellsworth, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 17, in Menomonie, Wis.
Joseph Clair Janisch, age 34, of Ellsworth, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 17, in Menomonie, Wis.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1977, to David Janisch and Deborah Peterson, in Red Wing, Minn. Joe grew up in Ellsworth, and he worked for most of his life on the family dairy farm. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1996. For the last year and a half, he worked construction for Highway Technologies. He married Gina Brunn on Oct. 9, 2004, in Monticello, Minn.
Joe loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a friend to everyone and was always there to help. Joe made the decision to be an organ and tissue donor and even in death will continue to help others. Joe adored his wife and children, and they were a very important part of his life.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother Little Dave and grandparents Clair and Anna Janisch.
He is survived by his wife, Gina; children, Miah, Lillianna, Austin, and Brevick; parents, David Janisch and Deborah Severson; parents-in-law, Ron and Della Brunn of Big Lake, Minn.; siblings Michael (Sarah) of England, Marie (Josh) Cady of Ellsworth, Karen (Joe) Roesler of Ellsworth; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew; many good friends and coworkers, who were like his brothers.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the church, and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be at Lost Creek Cemetery in El Paso, Wis.

Gina, I am so sorry for the loss of a great man!! He loved you and the kids so much it breaks my heart writing this. He was such a good friend to everyone he came in contact with. I have never met anyone so proud of his family. I will miss him so much words cannot describe my frustration. I can only imagine what you are going through. Please do not hesitate to lean on us for any little thing you can imagine. It would be my honor to help out such a great mans family in any way that I can.
