Eldora Marie Stark, age 74, of Hastings, died Jan. 8 at her home.
She was born on April 9, 1938, in River Falls, Wis., the daughter of Edor and Martha (Marker) Peterson. She grew up in Ellsworth, Wis., and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1955.
Eldora married Jerome F. Stark at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville, Wis., on Sept. 9, 1961. Together they raised two sons, Jerome Jr. and Jerrod. Ellie was an avid fan and huge supporter of her two sons' sports careers. Many hours were spent at ice rinks as well as golf courses. Ellie loved to read, garden, and take care of the numerous dogs that came through their lives. She especially loved her grandchildren and spent the same number of hours at the ice rinks, baseball fields, and soccer fields watching them play.
Ellie also enjoyed working at Walmart. She enjoyed helping people, and people enjoyed her. Ellie also like to spend time with her friends. The casino was one of their spots to enjoy together.
Eldora is survived by her husband, Jerry of Hastings; sons: Jay (Charlene) Stark Jr., Hastings; Jerrod (Dyan Bymark) Stark, Cave Creek, Ariz.; grandchildren, Josef, Jackie, Juliann, Jerilyn, and Syenna; mother, Martha Peterson, Ellsworth; three brothers and one sister: Albert (Yvonne) Peterson, Spring Valley, Wis.; Waynette (Robert) Wittenberg, Ellsworth; Gregory (Sue) Peterson, Beldenville.; sister in-law, Carol Peterson, Wilson, Wis.
She was preceded in death by father, Edor; sisters Eleanor Mae and Pauline; and brothers Roland and Wayne.
Funeral services for Eldora will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, from 4-7 p.m. Monday and for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
