Doris Alton, age 88, of Spring Valley, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Doris Alton, age 88, of Spring Valley, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Doris was born May 18, 1924, in Gilman Township, Pierce County, Wis., the daughter of George and Hazel (Foss) Bune. She was baptized and confirmed at Gilman Lutheran Church and was a lifelong member there and active in the Ladies Aid.
On Aug. 6, 1947, Doris married Garland Alton at the Gilman Lutheran Parsonage in Spring Valley. They farmed at Olivet in Spring Lake Township and had two daughters: Beverly and Connie.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Garland; daughter Beverly; brothers Forrest Bune and Bill Bune; in-laws Helen Bune, Odell Bune, Sandy Bune, Valois (LaVerne) Reckin; and Gaylon Alton.
She is survived by her daughter Connie of Winnebago, Wis.; granddaughter, Kari Alton of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; brothers Howard Bune of Hudson, Al Bune of Lindstrom, Minn., and Larry Bune of Spring Valley; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley, with Rev. D. Peter Friberg officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-11 a.m. at church prior to the service. Pallbearers are Jack Bune, Jay Bune, Brian Bune, Brent Bune, Dustin Bune, and Andy Bune. Burial is in Gilman Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley, Wis.
